About The Beaches Toronto, Ontario

There are some Great Schools (public and catholic) in and around The Beaches neighourhood of Toronto. Many people come from all around to enjoy the culture, the city and the beaches so there are a lot of activities to suit every personality type. There are also a lot of nearby historical landmarks in the area. The Beaches contains a number of historic buildings that are either designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, or listed in the City of Toronto's inventory of heritage buildings. The Beaches is very close to downtown which makes it very desirable for professionals who work downtown and want to live nearby.

The Beaches Neighborhood of Toronto is also known simply as "The Beach". The Beaches is a popular tourist destination and a great place to live. It is located on the east side of the "Old" City of Toronto from Coxwell east to Victoria Park. The lakefront area of the neighbourhood is divided into four sections. They are Woodbine Beach to the west, Kew Beach and Scarboro Beach in the centre, and Balmy Beach to the east. These four beaches are what gives the area its name. There are a large number of independent specialty stores in The Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario. The side streets are mostly lined with semi-detached and large-scale Victorian, Edwardian and new-style houses. There are also low-rise apartment buildings and a few row-houses. C

The name of the community is the subject of a long-standing dispute. Some long-time local residents assert that The Beach is the proper historical name for the area, whereas others are of the view that "The Beaches" is the more universally recognized neighbourhood name, particularly by non-residents. All government levels refer to the riding, or the ward in the case of the municipal government, as Beaches-East York.

Glen Stewart Park, Kew Gardens, Balmy Beach Park, Woodbine Park, Beaches Park and Ashbridge's Bay Park are all located in The Beaches. The boardwalk stretches the length of the shoreline beach parks. Overall this is a very nice area to vacation, live and play. Contact Andrew Doumont today for more information about The Beaches Real Estate in Toronto, Ontario.
